Physical Therapist Assistant PTA Home Health

Responsibilities:

• Promotes Elara Carings philosophy, mission statement and administrative policies to ensure quality of care.
• Performs direct physical therapy services in accordance with accepted standards of practice and as certified by the patients physician to ensure quality and continuity of care.
• Follows Plan of Care as established by the supervising Physical Therapist and reports any changes in status.
• Adheres to the State Practice Act Guidelines and verifies the Plan of Care prior to each visit.
• Provides care according to physicians orders, assessment data, and established standards.
• Incorporates patient care goals into therapy care and instructs patients and families in the safe use of prosthetic, orthotic and assistive devices.
• Instructs patient and caregiver in the therapy home program.
• Works in a physically demanding environment including handling, lifting, and transferring patients.
• May work irregular hours including call hours if applicable.

Requirements:

• Graduate of an accredited physical therapist assistant program approved by the American Therapy Association.
• Current, unrestricted Physical Therapist Assistant license valid for the state of work.
• 6+ months of experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant preferred.
• Able and willing to travel within the branch/office coverage area (up to 50%).
• Dependable vehicle, valid drivers license, and current auto insurance in accordance with state laws.
• Ability to lift, push, pull, and support up to 50 pounds.
