Job Description
Position Overview:
The Foreman is a managerial employee who assists the Public Works Director in the planning, directing, and administration of the Public Works Department. In the absence of the Public Works Director, the Foreman assumes the duties of the Public Works Director.
The Foreman is a working supervisor directing one or more individuals and groups of equipment operators and laborers engaged in the performance of their duties. The duties of the Foreman include assigning specific duties and maintaining work schedules developed by the Public Works Director and performing physical work on projects.
Qualifications:
Education:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); College degree in a related field preferred.
Experience and Training:
Five (5) years overall experience and/or training in general maintenance procedures and practices, including one (1) year experience in a supervisory capacity and three (3) years experience in the operation of equipment necessary to carry out department responsibilities, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Licenses/Certification:
Possesses and maintains a Class B Commercial Drivers License with Air Brake Endorsement from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
