Michigan Broadband Services is seeking a reliable and motivated Fleet Mechanic to maintain and repair a growing fleet of company vehicles and construction equipment. This position supports daily operations by ensuring all trucks, vans, cars, and field equipment remain safe, dependable, and job-site ready. Experience with diesel engines, vibratory plows, and directional drills is preferred but not required. This position is based out of Carney, MI and will report to the Fleet Manager.


Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on company vehicles and equipment
  • Service trucks, vans, cars, trailers, vibratory plows, directional drills, and other field equipment
  • Complete oil changes, fluid checks, tire repair/replacement, electrical repairs, and preventative maintenance
  • Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues and complete repairs in a timely manner
  • Maintain accurate service and repair records
  • Assist with inventory management and parts organization
  • Complete parts runs and pick up materials as needed
  • Support field crews with occasional onsite or emergency repairs
  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required
  • Valid drivers license required
  • Class A CDL preferred, but not required
  • Experience working on diesel equipment and construction machinery preferred
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check and driving record check for insurability
  • Ability to lift 50100 pounds
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet scheduling demands
  • Willingness to travel and stay overnight occasionally for field repairs when needed
