County Caseworker 1 at Montour County Children and Youth offers a chance to make a real difference for local families. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This role focuses on supporting families from the time they are referred to the agency through the completion of services. You will work in homes, offices, and community settings to help families reach safety and stability. As a County Caseworker 1, you will perform the following duties:

  • Family Meetings: Meet with families regularly in various settings to understand needs and guide progress
  • Service Coordination: Work with service providers to support family goals related to safety and self sufficiency
  • Case Documentation: Complete data entry and maintain accurate case records for agency use and court testimony
  • Crisis Response: Provide crisis intervention during urgent situations and participate in scheduled on call rotations
  • Policy Compliance: Follow all DHS regulations and agency procedures related to client services

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
  • Full-time employment.
  • Work hours are 9:00 am to 4:00 pm, Monday - Friday, with 1-hour lunch.
    • Shared On-Call

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Two years of experience as a County Social Services Aide 3 and two years of college level course work which includes 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences; or
  • A bachelor's degree which includes or is supplemented by successful completion of 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training which includes 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences and one year of experience as a County Social Services Aide 3 or in a similar position performing paraprofessional case management functions.
  • Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within two months of graduating with a qualifying degree/credits.
Other Requirements:
  • PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
  • This particular position also requires you to possess a valid driver's license which is not under suspension.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
  • You must pass a background investigation.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
    • Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
