Philanthropy Officer Job Responsibilities:
Provides clear communication to staff, volunteers and vendors through written notices/instructions, meetings, emails and reports to achieve desired fundraising goals.
Clearly communicates the organization's mission and funding opportunities through meetings with prospective donors to facilitate their contributions to the organization.
Attends conferences, workshops and seminars to maintain expert knowledge in field of practice.
Collaborates with Development staff to identify new trends as they affect Development goals.
Negotiates with outside vendors/contractors to execute fundraising activities within a prescribed budget.
Oversees all promotional materials related to assigned fundraising actives to ensure accuracy/compliance with Inova Health System graphic standards.
Establishes and meets fundraising goals as approved by the director.
Manages assigned volunteers that assist with fundraising to meet fundraising goals and to ensure volunteer satisfaction.
Maintains accurate records of donor contributions in collaboration with appropriate Inova staff to ensure official documentation of contributions and appropriate recognitions.
Cultivates relationships with donors and prospective donors to include donor research, regular correspondence and the execution of recognition events to meet organizational fundraising goals.
Minimum Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor's degree OR 4 years relevant professional experience in addition to the minimum Experience requirement
- Experience: 3 years of philanthropy experience in development or a healthcare setting
