Duties
Offer empathetic peer support through active listening, mentoring, and motivational interviewing techniques to empower clients on their recovery journey
Assist individuals experiencing crises by implementing crisis intervention strategies and managing emergency situations with confidence and calmness
Collaborate with clinical teams to develop personalized recovery plans that incorporate behavioral health and addiction counseling principles
Maintain accurate documentation of client interactions using electronic health record (EHR) systems, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with privacy standards
Serve as a role model by sharing your lived experience to inspire hope and motivate clients toward positive change
Connect clients with community resources, housing, employment services, and other social supports to foster stability and independence
Experience
Lived experience with behavioral health challenges or substance use recovery is highly valued; certification as a Peer Support Specialist is preferred but not required
Demonstrated knowledge of crisis management techniques and crisis intervention protocols
Familiarity with mental health counseling approaches, addiction counseling strategies, and social work principles
Experience in mentoring or coaching others to achieve personal goals
Ability to navigate electronic health record (EHR) systems efficiently while maintaining strict confidentiality
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust quickly and communicate effectively in high-pressure situations
Commitment to ongoing professional development in behavioral health topics such as motivational interviewing and crisis intervention
