Duties

• Offer empathetic peer support through active listening, mentoring, and motivational interviewing techniques to empower clients on their recovery journey

• Assist individuals experiencing crises by implementing crisis intervention strategies and managing emergency situations with confidence and calmness

• Collaborate with clinical teams to develop personalized recovery plans that incorporate behavioral health and addiction counseling principles

• Maintain accurate documentation of client interactions using electronic health record (EHR) systems, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with privacy standards

• Serve as a role model by sharing your lived experience to inspire hope and motivate clients toward positive change

• Connect clients with community resources, housing, employment services, and other social supports to foster stability and independence

Experience

• Lived experience with behavioral health challenges or substance use recovery is highly valued; certification as a Peer Support Specialist is preferred but not required

• Demonstrated knowledge of crisis management techniques and crisis intervention protocols

• Familiarity with mental health counseling approaches, addiction counseling strategies, and social work principles

• Experience in mentoring or coaching others to achieve personal goals

• Ability to navigate electronic health record (EHR) systems efficiently while maintaining strict confidentiality

• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust quickly and communicate effectively in high-pressure situations

• Commitment to ongoing professional development in behavioral health topics such as motivational interviewing and crisis intervention
