Packaging Operator - JIFFY

Our client, Chelsea Milling Company - JIFFY, is seeking a Packaging Operator to join their team. As a Packaging Operator at JIFFY, you will be part of the production department supporting the packaging line operations. The ideal candidate will demonstrate attention to detail, teamwork, and a proactive attitude, which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Packaging Operator

Location: Chelsea, MI

Pay Range: Starting pay is $18 per hour + a $0.30 per hour shift differential

Shift: Monday through Friday: 1st shift is 7am-3pm; 2nd shift is 3pm-11pm; and 3rd shift is 11pm-7am.

What's the Job?

• Operate and monitor all packaging equipment including boxmaker, filler, checkweigher, top sealer, and baler to ensure efficient production.
• Maintain product quality by inspecting shells, cartons, and printed labels for accuracy and proper quality standards.
• Load, adjust, and maintain packaging machinery to optimize output and ensure safety compliance.
• Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of work areas and equipment to uphold a safe and clean environment.
• Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot issues, manage line back-ups, and ensure smooth operations throughout the shift.

What's Needed?

• Ability to follow safety protocols and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail and quality standards.
• Willingness to learn and train others on job duties.
• Basic understanding of operating packaging machinery is preferred but not required.
• Must pass a drug test (Oral - 10 Panel) and a criminal background check (Enhanced Nationwide Search).
