Melt Operator

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated Melt Operator to join our metal manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating and monitoring melting equipment to produce high-quality molten metal, ensuring safety, efficiency, and adherence to quality standards throughout the process.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate and control melting furnaces and related equipment to melt metals according to specified parameters.
• Monitor temperature, composition, and other critical variables to ensure proper melting conditions.
• Perform regular inspections and maintenance on melting equipment to prevent downtime.
• Adjust settings as needed to maintain consistent melt quality and efficiency.
• Follow safety protocols to handle molten metal safely and prevent accidents.
• Record process data accurately, including temperature readings, quantities, and operational parameters.
• Assist in the preparation and loading of raw materials into melting furnaces.
• Collaborate with quality control to ensure the final product meets specifications.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety and environmental standards.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or experience in metal melting preferred.
• Previous experience operating melting furnaces or similar equipment in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of safety procedures related to handling molten metals.
• Ability to monitor and adjust equipment settings accurately.
• Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, including standing for extended periods and handling heavy materials.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills.

Working Conditions:

• Exposure to high temperatures, molten metals, and noise.
• Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) required at all times.
• Standing for long periods and handling heavy loads.
