Material Handler Forklift Operator (2nd Shift)

Schedule: Monday–Friday, must be open to a 12:00pm–3:00pm start time working 10-12 hour shifts

Overtime: Saturdays during peak season

Starting hourly Pay $20.50 with an increases.

Position Overview

We are seeking a dependable and safety‐driven Material Handler and Forklift Operator to join our team in Bergen, NY. This role involves operating forklifts, supporting production lines, and performing general material handling tasks throughout the facility. The Material Handler and Forklift Operator will also assist with cleaning, equipment upkeep, and maintaining a safe, organized work environment. Work takes place both indoors and outdoors, so comfort working in all weather conditions—including heat, cold, rain, snow, and dusty environments—is essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform daily forklift safety checks and fluid inspections
• Supply packaging lines with empty pallets and monitor pallet inventory
• Assist on the production line as needed, including manual material handling
• Remove palletized product from production lines and operate the stretch‐wrapper
• Store finished goods neatly and accurately in designated warehouse rows
• Maintain plant cleanliness by sweeping, shoveling, restacking pallets, and removing debris
• Support general cleaning tasks throughout the facility
• Load outbound trucks according to BOLs and report any discrepancies
• Conduct physical inventory counts of finished goods
• Meet quality, accuracy, and productivity standards consistently
• Ensure safe operation of all equipment and maintain proper fluid levels

Skills & Competencies

• Proven experience as a Material Handler and Forklift Operator
• Willingness to perform general material handling, production‐line support, and cleaning duties
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and climb on/off equipment repeatedly
• Comfortable sitting for extended periods while operating machinery
• Strong communication and basic math skills
• Ability to read and write English or follow written/verbal instructions
• Comfortable working in hot, cold, dusty, or wet conditions
• Availability for mandatory overtime, including weekends and holidays
