General Position Responsibility:

On a daily basis, the associate will be called upon to perform customer sales/service duties while assisting with managing our warehouse and will be making local deliveries to customers and pick-ups from vendors. In addition to these duties the Inside Sales Associate is responsible for helping increase sales and customer satisfaction to our construction partners as they enter our operations facility. It is expected they consistently strive for an outstanding customer experience by greeting our customers in a professional way, efficient and timely manner, while proactively managing the warehouse, order flow and material purchasing.

Counter/Inside Sales Duties:
Professionally greeting our construction partners as they arrive and pick up orders. Purposely build customer relationships with returning, long – term clients.

Accurately fulfill orders while suggesting complementary products and additional quantities if appropriate

Proficiently enter orders/tickets

Maintain a professional and friendly appearance

Identify new ways to expand the SSI product line across all specialty contractors associated with each customer’s visit.

Attain and apply construction industry knowledge across all construction disciplines where SSI’s products apply: concrete, waterproofing, glazing, masonry, roofing, wall, glass, etc…

Driver Duties:

Maintain a good driving record

Accurately load and unload orders while maintaining safety and timeliness

Maintain a professional and friendly appearance

Make on time and accurate deliveries by getting orders checked before departure

Understand and use proper tie down and load standard operating procedures

Warehouse Associate Duties:

Manage stocking the warehouse, including unloading of carrier trucks with specific focus on a safe, clean work environment

Efficiently and accurately provide a count of inbound and outbound stock transfers

Skillfully work with everyone within the branch and other branches directly or via phone/email

Desired Skills and Experience:

Excellent customer service skills

Basic computer skills

Experience working in a warehouse driving a forklift, loading/unloading materials by hand or dolly

Good safety record working in a warehouse environment

Ability to lift up to 60lbs repetitively

HAZMAT certification is a plus

Highly organized and self-motivated to work without constant supervision

Experience driving a company vehicle

Experience counting inventory and spot checking

Excellent communication skills
