Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic, bicultural/bilingual (English-Spanis) and visionary Executive Director (ED) to lead our organization towards sustained growth and success. The ED is the Chief Executive Officer of East Boston Community Council (EBCC) and provides overall leadership for the strategic direction and daily operations providing a high-quality experience for program participants and a positive work environment for staff. Reporting to the Board of Directors the ED is accountable for the organization's consistent achievement of its mission and financial health.
The ED provides informed and dynamic leadership, convening the staff around the shared purpose of ensuring a mission-driven, high performing, outcomes-orientated, constituent-centered, and financially sustainable organization. The ED will provide leadership that values teamwork, consensus building and delegation, the clear analysis of issues, the delineation of options, the use of information in decision-making, and the strategic assessment of institutional needs. As part of this leadership, the Executive will maintain a working knowledge of significant developments and trends in immigration, youth development, adult ESOL, parent organizing and civic engagement arenas and in the East Boston neighborhood and surrounding communities with significant Latino populations.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities include operations, financial management, marketing, fundraising, public/community relations, advocacy, program supervision and development, and human resource management. In addition, historically the ED has represented the organization on several collaborative steering committees that help advance the mission of EBCC. In addition, the ED will:
- Develop and implement comprehensive strategic plans that align with organizational goals and market opportunities.
- Lead senior leadership teams by providing clear direction, mentorship, and fostering a culture of high performance.
- Oversee all program operations, ensuring efficiency, financial health, and compliance with regulatory standards.
- Secures funding and resources to achieve an organization's mission by to expand market presence, build partnerships, and increase revenue streams.
- Manage financial planning, budgeting, and resource allocation to support sustainable growth.
- Identifying potential donors, cultivating donor relationships, organizing events, stakeholder meetings, and public engagements to enhance reputation and influence.
- Supervise management teams across departments, ensuring effective execution of organizational policies and initiatives.
Experience
- Proven track record in non-profit 501(c)(3) organizations management with extensive senior leadership experience.
- Strong background in strategic planning and executing growth strategies in a competitive environment.
- Demonstrated success in supervising culturally and linguistically diverse teams and fostering leadership development.
- Experience in managing financial operations including budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
- Excellent management skills with the ability to oversee multiple departments/programs simultaneously.
- Prior experience in business development activities that resulted in measurable organizational expansion.
