Job Description
Position Summary
The Earthwork Forman will direct and lead a crew of hourly workers on a project and managing all aspects of their crew's work including safety, planning, production, reporting and monitoring performance; typically reports to project superintendent.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Complete company required or regulatory documents such as JHA, Quality Inspection Sheet, Daily Reports, Daily Productions, etc.
- Supervise, mentor and coach field employees as it relates to company policies and procedures and work requirements
- Direct work of assigned crew to meet daily schedule
- Understand production schedule and adjust daily work to meet schedule
- Perform daily forecast of crew cost and production rate and report to Superintendent as required
- Perform on-site coordination of manpower, materials and equipment
- Request material needed for scope of work
- Read, understand and interpret plans and specifications as required and check work according to specifications
- Maintain high level of safety and adherence to all safety policies and procedures for field employees and subcontractors
- Present safety topics at meeting when required
- Ensures workers for each task are fully qualified to perform assigned duties
- Coordinate sub-contractors onsite
- Maintains knowledge of Linkus company values and strategic plan
- Support published corporate policies
- Perform additional assignments per management s direction
Position Requirements
· High school diploma or GED.
· Knowledge, understanding, and strict adherence of OSHA rules. Obtain OSHA 30.
· 1-2 years field experience.
· Minimum 1 years of experience in a construction leadership role directing the efforts of others.
· Ability to read and interpret written work orders.
· Knowledge of mechanical landscaping equipment.
· Basic mechanical and electrical knowledge.
· Ability to lift and manipulate heavy equipment.
Physical Requirements
- Requires frequent bending, reaching, standing, walking, squatting, sitting, pushing, and pulling of heavy objects regularly throughout the work shift
- Able to work in sun, heat, dry, dirty and dusty conditions
- Able to lift a minimum of 75 pounds without assistance
- Requires manual dexterity to operate equipment and perform manual responsibilities
Work Environment:
Outside work exposed to variant weather conditions (hot, cold, rain, snow) and muddy ground conditions.
