Robert Half is seeking an experienced Buyer/Materials Planner for an immediate temporary-to-hire opportunity supporting aerospace and manufacturing operations. This is a hands-on role focused on purchasing, material planning, inventory management, and supplier coordination in a fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and able to quickly step in and support daily operations while working closely with production, operations, engineering, and leadership teams.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage purchasing activities including sourcing, quoting, negotiating, and issuing purchase orders
  • Plan and forecast material needs based on production schedules and inventory demands
  • Ensure materials are available to support manufacturing timelines and minimize delays
  • Monitor inventory levels and maintain accurate purchasing and pricing data within ERP systems
  • Coordinate with suppliers to resolve delivery, quality, or pricing issues
  • Support sales and operations with material cost and lead time information
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and alternative sourcing solutions
  • Collaborate across departments to support changing production priorities


• Experience in purchasing, procurement, buying, or supply chain support within a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to analyze demand, inventory, and supplier data to make informed buying decisions.
• Knowledge of material planning, standard costing, and purchase order management practices.
• Strong negotiation and supplier relationship management skills with attention to quality, cost, and delivery performance.
• Comfortable working cross-functionally with sales, production, and operations teams in a fast-paced setting.
• Proficiency with procurement or ERP systems and maintaining accurate lead times, pricing, and vendor records.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in documentation, compliance, and process accuracy.
• Familiarity with regulated quality standards, such as those found in aerospace or similar industries, is preferred.
