Special Education Teacher | Canton, Ohio

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Step into a rewarding contract opportunity working with students across K–8 in a dynamic school environment near Canton, OH. As a dedicated Special Education Teacher, you’ll support learners with diverse needs and help shape their educational experience throughout the 2026–2027 academic year.

Your role will focus on delivering personalized instruction, developing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), collaborating with teachers and specialists, and fostering an inclusive classroom environment. This position runs from August 2026 through June 2027, offering a consistent 40-hour, 5-day workweek.

Qualifications:

• Active Ohio K–12 Intervention Specialist License (OH K-12 IS License)
• Experience working with K–8 students in special education settings is preferred
• Strong understanding of IEP development and progress monitoring
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, support staff, and families

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and implement individualized and group instruction for students with special needs
• Develop and monitor IEPs in compliance with state and federal guidelines
• Create a positive, structured space tailored to individual student abilities and goals
• Modify curricula as necessary to accommodate student learning styles
• Maintain accurate student records and communicate progress regularly with parents and staff
• Actively participate in team meetings and contribute to a supportive school community
