Job Title: Production Worker

Job Description

This role focuses on producing high-quality solid wood furniture and components in a manufacturing environment. You will work with woodworking tools and equipment, handle wood materials throughout the production process, and help ensure that every product meets strict quality and workmanship standards. The position offers hands-on training, consistent schedules, and the opportunity to build valuable skills in woodworking and production.

Responsibilities

  • Produce solid wood furniture and components in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Operate basic woodworking hand and power tools safely and efficiently, with training provided as needed.
  • Load, unload, stack, and move wood materials throughout the production process.
  • Perform sanding, drilling, assembly, and finishing preparation tasks to prepare products for final finishing.
  • Inspect products for quality, accuracy, and adherence to workmanship standards.
  • Follow detailed work instructions, production schedules, and established safety procedures.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area at all times.
  • Process solid wood by matching wood pieces, identifying and removing defects, and stacking wood planks appropriately.
  • Apply glue to products and components as part of the assembly and lamination processes.
  • Cut edges of wood to ensure they are straight, smooth, and ready for further processing or assembly.
  • Use measuring tools, such as tape measures, to verify dimensions and ensure accurate production.
  • Collaborate with team members and communicate effectively to meet production goals and timelines.

  • Willingness to learn and develop new skills in woodworking and production.
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality to support consistent production schedules.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs safely and repeatedly during the shift.
  • Ability to stand for the entirety of the shift in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure quality, accuracy, and proper workmanship.
  • Basic mathematical skills, including measuring and simple calculations, preferred.
  • Comfort using hand tools and power tools with proper training.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal work instructions and safety procedures.
  • Commitment to maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work area.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in production, general labor, or general manufacturing is helpful but not required.
  • Familiarity with woodworking or wood working processes is an advantage.
  • Experience with assembly work in a manufacturing or shop environment is beneficial.
  • Exposure to machine operation in a production setting is a plus.
  • Experience in quality assurance, inspection, or product quality checks is helpful.
  • Ability to use a tape measure accurately for measuring materials.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with hand tools and power tools safely.
  • Strong focus on quality, precision, and attention to detail in all tasks.

Work Environment

This role is based in a shop environment that can be dusty and loud, consistent with woodworking and production operations. You will work on either 1st shift (5:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday) or 2nd shift (3:00 p.m. to 1:30 a.m., Monday through Thursday). Each shift includes one paid 10-minute break and a 30-minute unpaid lunch. You will regularly use woodworking hand and power tools, handle solid wood materials, and work around production machinery. The dress code is casual and practical for a shop setting, where wearing shorts, a t-shirt, and sneakers is acceptable, provided safety guidelines are followed.E

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $16.00/hr.
