Job Description:
\n Custom Healthcare Solutions is seeking an experienced Med-Surg Nurse Manager (RN) for a 13-week contract assignment in Far Rockaway, NY, with the possibility for extension. This is a great opportunity for a strong clinical leader with prior management experience in an acute care setting.

Med-Surg Nurse Manager (RN) Schedule:
\n Monday–Friday
\n Day Shift (7:00 AM – 3:30 PM or 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM, based on unit needs)

\n

Contract Length:
\n 13 weeks (extension possible)

\n

Med-Surg Nurse Manager (RN) Responsibilities:

\n

\n
• Oversee daily operations of the Medical-Surgical unit, ensuring efficient patient flow and quality care delivery
\n
• Supervise, support, and evaluate nursing staff, including scheduling and performance management
\n
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, regulatory standards, and patient safety protocols
\n
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to improve patient outcomes and satisfaction
\n
• Monitor staffing levels and adjust based on census and acuity
\n
• Participate in hiring, onboarding, and staff development initiatives
\n
• Address patient care concerns and escalate issues as needed
\n
• Maintain accurate documentation and assist with audits, quality improvement, and performance metrics
\n
• Serve as a clinical resource and leader for the nursing team
\n

\n

Requirements & Qualifications:

\n

\n
• Active RN license (New York State)
\n
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; Master’s degree preferred
\n
• Minimum 3–5 years of acute care nursing experience
\n
• At least 1–2 years of leadership or nurse management experience in a Med-Surg setting
\n
• Strong knowledge of hospital operations, staffing, and regulatory standards
\n
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
\n

Certifications:

• BLS (Basic Life Support)
\n
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
\n
