Cert requirements: Master's degree in in Medical Physics, Physics, Radiation Biology, or related field.
• American Board of Radiology (ABR) certified
Years of experience REQ: Aria v15+ Experience, Eclipse V15+ Experience, 3+years Varian TrueBeam experience, minimum 3 years post residency.
First-timers accepted: yes, must meet experience requirements
Patient Age Groups:
Adolescents, Adults, Geriatrics
Responsible for ensuring the safe and effective delivery of radiation therapy to patients. This role involves collaborating with radiation oncologists, dosimetrists, and radiation therapists to design and implement treatment plans, calibrate and maintain radiation equipment, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
Responsibilities:
Performs equipment calibration, maintenance, and quality assurance (QA) testing on treatment devices to ensure they are operating within specified parameters, addressing technical issues or discrepancies, patient-specific quality assurance testing, and routine maintenance testing and troubleshooting equipment problems to minimize downtime.
Supports treatment plan development and review, including collaboration with physicians and dosimetrists during the treatment planning process, review, and approval of patient treatment plans, and ensuring accuracy and clinical protocol compliance of dosimetry calculations.
Supervise special procedures, such as SRS/SBRT treatment sessions or brachytherapy procedures, and ability to cross-cover most clinical responsibilities.
Professional development, clinical projects, and participation in Quality Improvement/Process Improvement.
