American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Long Term Care/SNF position requiring a ND or compact RN license, LTC experience, and night shift availability every other weekend.
Details- 26-bed Long Term Care/Skilled Nursing Facility (LTC/SNF) setting
- Common diagnoses include heart disease, diabetes, and dementia
- Nurse-to-patient ratios are 1:10 on days and 1:19 on nights
- No IV drips, telemetry, or respiratory therapy on-site
- Oxygen therapy via concentrators and portable concentrators available
- Off-site pharmacy; no on-site medication dispensing system
- Charting is done in MatrixCare (Matrix EMR)
- 12-hour night shifts, 7pm–7am
- Every other weekend (EOW) required
- Every other major holiday required
- No on-call or standby requirement
- No floating requirement
- 13-week contract
- Active ND or Compact (NLC) RN license required; pending licenses not accepted
- Current BLS certification required; pending certifications not accepted
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- LTC experience required
- Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months, and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, both including dates of employment and eligibility for rehire
- Copy of driver's license required for consideration
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
- RN serves as charge nurse, responsible for medication administration and wound care
- No clinical supervisors on-site; overseen by Director of Nursing (DON)
- Physician availability after hours is by phone (on-call)
- Interdisciplinary support includes PT as needed and a social worker designee
- 2–3 shifts of unit/department-specific orientation provided
- No self-scheduling; schedule is assigned
- Scrubs must be clean and presentable; no specific color requirement
- Candidates who have been directly employed full-time, part-time, or PRN by any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity-affiliated facility within the past year are not eligible; candidates employed PRN through outside staffing firms will be considered
- RTO requests of 7 days or fewer per 13-week contract must be submitted upfront; additional RTO will not be approved
