Maine Veterans’ Homes is seeking an experienced and highly organized Pharmacy Business Office Manager to lead the daily operations of our pharmacy business office and support pharmacy services across multiple care settings. The Pharmacy Business Office Manager is responsible for overseeing the smooth operation of the pharmacy business office, including pharmacy billing, revenue cycle management, financial reporting, staff supervision, and operational support. This role serves as a key resource for billing inquiries, compliance oversight, and pharmacy business operations.
What You’ll Do
- Lead daily pharmacy business office operations and support services
- Oversee pharmacy billing, collections, cash posting, accounts receivable, and aging analysis
- Manage pharmacy office staff through scheduling, mentoring, coaching, and performance oversight
- Develop and maintain office policies, procedures, and operational workflows
- Support budgeting, reporting, audits, compliance, and financial controls
- Serve as the primary point of contact for pharmacy billing questions and reconciliations
- Collaborate with pharmacy leadership to improve operational efficiency and best practices
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA, Medicare Part D, Fraud Waste & Abuse (FWA), and other regulatory requirements
- Maintain accurate records and documentation in accordance with pharmacy regulations
- Participate in strategic initiatives and continuous process improvement efforts
- Active Maine Pharmacy Technician license in good standing required
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Experience in long-term care pharmacy, healthcare billing, or pharmacy operations strongly preferred
- Knowledge of pharmacy revenue cycle and accounts receivable processes
- Supervisory or team leadership experience preferred
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Outlook, and Word
- Full-time position
- Primarily weekday schedule
- Some early morning, evening, weekend, and occasional overnight travel may be required
