About the RoleAs a Flight Readiness Technician, you will be at the forefront of aircraft quality assurance—verifying system functionality, performing detailed inspections, and ensuring every aircraft meets stringent safety and performance requirements prior to delivery. Your expertise will directly impact the reliability and success of aircraft operations.
Job Details:
Location: San Antonio, TX
Schedule: Monday–Friday, variable shifts (1st & 2nd based on business needs)
Pay Rate: $45.00/hour
Job Type: Full-Time, 9-Month Contract
In this role, you will:
Perform inspections verifying installation and operational readiness of aircraft components and systems
Conduct functional testing across pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, and avionics systems
Diagnose and document mechanical and electrical faults
Inspect pre-flight and post-flight conditions, ensuring aircraft readiness for delivery
Verify maintenance and modification compliance
Perform and document non-conformance reports (NCRs) with minimal supervision
Support system and sub-system pre-delivery inspections
Interpret technical instructions and validate work accuracy through self-inspections
Plan and organize daily activities with guidance from team leads
Ability to work any shift, including nights and weekends
3+ years of aerospace industry experience
3+ years in quality inspection and/or auditing
3+ years working with Velocity and 787 production systems
Strong ability to interpret detailed technical documentation
Experience working in a team-driven environment
Ability to meet physical job demands (climbing ladders, lifting up to 35 lbs, working in confined spaces, etc.)
Successful completion of required training (OJT or classroom)
FAA Airframe & Power Plant (A&P) License
Experience with 787 program operations
Background in flight line operations (3+ years ideal)
Proficiency in REDARS, PSDS, and BAC specifications
Experience generating NCRs and EPDs (NC/NCR/RGEN/SAT/SRR, etc.)
Familiarity with FOD risk reduction practices
Leadership experience (formal or informal)
Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools
