Job Description
We are looking for a talented Special Education Teacher for the school year.
Hourly Rate Range: $45.00-$55.00 per hour
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in accordance with Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (DPI) and IDEA requirements.
- Provide specialized instruction to students with disabilities in resource, self-contained, inclusive, and one-on-one educational settings.
- Adapt curriculum, lesson plans, instructional materials, and teaching strategies to meet diverse student needs and learning styles.
- Monitor and assess student progress through formal and informal assessments and utilize data to guide instructional decisions.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, administrators, and families to support student achievement and inclusion.
- Participate in IEP meetings, reevaluations, eligibility determinations, and multidisciplinary team discussions.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation, including IEPs, progress reports, service logs, and compliance records in accordance with Wisconsin DPI and federal regulations.
- Implement behavior intervention plans (BIPs), positive behavioral supports, and classroom management strategies to promote student success.
- Support students in developing academic, social-emotional, communication, and independent living skills as appropriate.
- Ensure compliance with all state, federal, district, and school policies regarding special education services.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Special Education from an accredited college or university.
- Valid Wisconsin Teaching License issued by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (DPI) with appropriate Special Education licensure.
- Licensure in one or more disability categories such as Cross-Categorical Special Education, Learning Disabilities, Emotional Behavioral Disabilities, Intellectual Disabilities, Autism, or related special education areas preferred.
- Experience developing, implementing, and managing IEPs.
- Knowledge of IDEA, Wisconsin Special Education Law, and best practices for serving students with disabilities.
- Fingerprint Clearance & Background Check required.
