JOB TITLE: Shipping Processor
BASED: Peabody Engineering LLC. 230 Financial Blvd, Liberty, SC 29657
JOB STATUS: Full Time and Non-Exempt
POSITION REPORTS TO: Director of Operations
SCHEDULE: Monday through Thursday, 6:00 am to 4:00 pm, with additional hours as needed. Overtime must be pre-approved by management.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION: The Shipping Processor is responsible for the final inspection, packaging, staging, and preparation of finished products for shipment. This role serves as a critical quality checkpoint, ensuring all products meet company and customer specifications before leaving the facility. The Shipping Processor works closely with production, warehouse, and shipping personnel to ensure accurate, damage-free, and on-time deliveries while maintaining a safe and organized work environment.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- 1–3 years of experience in a warehouse, manufacturing, or shipping environment preferred.
- Previous shipping and receiving experience required.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Strong organizational, planning, and time-management skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions with minimal supervision.
- Ability to safely lift and move up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work collaboratively and maintain positive working relationships.
- Experience operating forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment, or willingness to obtain certification through company training.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Collaborate with team members to achieve and exceed production, quality, and shipping goals.
- Adhere to all company policies, safety regulations, work instructions, and quality standards.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, efficiency, quality, and on-time delivery.
- Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks, and other material-handling equipment.
- Perform final inspections of products before shipment to verify quality and accuracy.
- Package finished products using appropriate methods and materials to ensure maximum protection during transit and compliance with customer requirements.
- Accurately prepare, label, and stage shipments for carrier pickup.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with company housekeeping standards.
- Attend required meetings, training sessions, and departmental communications.
- Maintain regular and reliable attendance and communicate schedule changes promptly.
- Work overtime as required to support production and customer delivery commitments.
RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Maintain shipping, pallet, and dock areas in a clean, organized, and operational condition.
- Monitor and replenish packaging materials, pallets, crates, straps, wraps, and other shipping supplies.
- Construct custom pallets, crates, boxes, and protective packaging according to customer specifications and company work instructions.
- Verify that all kits, components, accessories, and documentation are included with shipments as required.
- Ensure pick sheets, packing lists, shipping labels, and other required documentation are accurately completed and attached to shipments.
- Perform shipment verification activities to confirm product quantities, configurations, and shipping information are accurate before release.
- Assist with loading and unloading trucks while following all safety procedures.
- Coordinate with shipping personnel and freight carriers to ensure products are loaded, secured, and transported in a manner that minimizes risk of damage.
- Support inventory accuracy through proper handling, identification, and movement of materials.
- Cross-train in related warehouse and shipping functions to provide operational flexibility and support business needs.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and communicate recommendations to management.
- Maintain compliance with OSHA regulations, company safety policies, and quality management system requirements.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Routinely required to stand, walk, stoop, bend, kneel, lift, and reach,
- Requires the essential use of hands, speech, eyesight, and hearing.
- Lifting to 50 lbs. independently and utilizing moving equipment for heavier items.
- Vision requirements include close and distance, color, and peripheral and depth vision.
- Noise level for this work environment is moderate.
- Ability to operate warehouse moving equipment safely
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Work performed primarily on the production floor, frequently operating machinery.
- May involve elevated temperatures and moderate to high noise levels.
- Requires both independent and collaborative work in production teams.
