Miller Berger is seeking an experienced full-time Litigation and Corporate Paralegal to join our expanding team in Arlington Heights. The role is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment, enjoys taking ownership of cases, and is comfortable adapting to shifting priorities.
Key Responsibilities
· Manage litigation matters from case inception through resolution, including maintaining organized case files and supporting overall case strategy.
· Maintain accurate case calendars and monitor deadlines to ensure compliance with court rules and scheduling orders in state, federal, and administrative courts.
· Prepare, revise, format, file, and serve pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery materials, and correspondence.
· Coordinate and manage all phases of discovery, including drafting and responding to written discovery, organizing and analyzing document productions, and preparing summaries of key evidence.
· Conduct legal research related to motion practice, hearings, and trial preparation, including research of case law, statutes, ordinances, and court rules.
· Request, review, and analyze client records and third-party documents; prepare chronologies, timelines, and case summaries.
· Prepare, serve, and track subpoenas for records and depositions, ensuring compliance and follow-up with third parties.
· Assist attorneys in preparing for depositions, mediations, settlement conferences, hearings, and trials; attend trial as needed.
· Support expert engagement by researching potential experts and compiling materials for retention and consultation.
· Communicate with courts, clients, local counsel, opposing counsel, and vendors in a professional and timely manner.
· Accurately track and record time in accordance with firm and client requirements.
· Open to learning other areas of the law such as real estate.

Qualifications
- Prior paralegal experience necessary, ideally 3 to 5 years.
- Ideally Bachelor’s degree and/or Paralegal Certificate
- High-quality level of customer service, professionalism, and interpersonal skills (oral and written) as the role requires various interactions with attorneys, courts and administrative agencies, local and opposing counsel, as well as firm clients.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office software, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Knowledge of Adobe (or similar) software and ability to create, edit, modify, redact, and protect pdf files.
- Experience with document management software – iManage knowledge is a plus.
- Must be self-motivated and proactive.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment.
- Strong organizational, time management, and project management skills.
