About this job
We are seeking experienced Steel Fabricators / GMAW MIG Welders to join our production team. This role focuses on the fabrication and welding of steel components used in custom vehicle builds, including specialty and livery vehicles. Candidates should be comfortable working with structural and light-gauge steel and producing high-quality parts from engineering drawings in a fast-paced production environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Cut, drill, grind, and fabricate steel components per engineering drawings and customer specifications
- Perform GMAW / MIG welding on steel ranging from 12 gauge to 3/16" thickness
- Fabricate structural components including seatbelt anchors, supports, brackets, and subassemblies
- Read and interpret engineering prints and fabrication drawings
- Measure, fit, and assemble parts to tight tolerances (± 1/16")
- Operate fabrication equipment including shear, grinders, cutoff wheels, drills, and saws
- Prepare materials and assemblies for welding, including fit-up and cleanup
- Assist with additional shop tasks such as drilling, surface prep, priming, and general fabrication support and installation
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to meet quality and schedule targets
Required Skills & Experience
- Ability to read a tape measure accurately to 1/16" tolerance
- Ability to fabricate directly from engineering prints with minimal supervision
- Proven experience with GMAW / MIG welding on steel (12 gauge – 3/16")
- Experience operating a shear and/or press brake (preferred)
- Strong proficiency with hand and power tools (grinders, drills, cutoff wheels, etc.)
- Solid mechanical aptitude and general fabrication skills
- Ability to maintain consistent weld quality and clean workmanship
Minimum Qualifications
· Must have no physical work limitations and be able to lift, bend, and work on their feet for extended periods
· Must be willing to assist with other fabrication and shop tasks as needed
· Must have reliable transportation
· Must maintain a professional appearance and conduct
Work Schedule & Benefits
· Full-time position | 40 hours per week
· Work Hours: Monday – Friday, 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
