About this job
Under the direction of the department manager, the role of the Patient Support Services Supervisor position is to provide supervision of the Davis 6 Hospital Unit Service Coordinator III's (HUSC) and the Volunteer staff as well as the unit's time keeping, scheduling for HUSC and Nursing staff, ordering supplies, stocking, scanning, environmental of care, general administrative support and duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications - For full consideration, applicants are encouraged to upload license and/or certification if required of the position
- CPR certification within 3 months of employment and maintain current CPR Certification thereafter
- Supervisory experience or an equivalent combination of such education and experience.
- Experience establishing and maintaining effective working relationships
- Experience conducting group and individual training sessions
- Experience preparing reports, memorandums and documents
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
- Skills to supervise an administrative and/or para-technical team and to manage multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Supervisory skills related to recruitment, organizing, scheduling, and assigning work, training and evaluating work performance, implementing counseling, discipline and corrective actions.
- Strong knowledge of patient care support activities, systems, external regulations. and internal policies.
- Knowledge of Fair Labor Practices, Collective Bargaining Agreements, and University policies and procedures.
- Demonstrated analytical experience with the ability to identify, analyze, report and resolve problems accurately and timely.
- Working knowledge of human resources management policies, with the ability to train, monitor, evaluate, and document human resources maters and employee performance.
- Detail oriented with the ability to apply analytical and critical thinking skills to quickly analyze problems, determine appropriate level of intervention, and apply effective solutions.
- Strong interpersonal skills for effective information exchange and problem solving with all levels of management and staff, consultants and outside agencies
- Knowledge and ability to exercise discretion, use good judgment and maintain confidentiality

Department Overview
Davis 6 Cardiology Services Unit is a 36-bed telemetry unit. The nurses on this unit manage the care of patients on the cardiology inpatient services, patients who are pre and post cardiac/vascular intervention procedures, and other acute care specialty patients who have a need for cardiac telemetry monitoring. Collaboration, teamwork and attentiveness to the needs of each patient are key components to the excellent care provided to our patient populations.
