OB/GYN Hospitalist Locum Opportunity – Texas

A healthcare organization is seeking a Board-Certified OB/GYN Physician for an ongoing hospitalist opportunity. This role offers 24-hour in-house call coverage within a collaborative labor and delivery environment supported by Certified Nurse Midwives and a dedicated OB Emergency Department.

Compensation: Rate: $4290 per 24 hours, Holiday: $6435 per 24 hours.

Position Overview

Coverage Type: 24-Hour In-House Call

Schedule: 4–8 shifts per month

EMR: Epic

Clinical Responsibilities

Manage obstetric and gynecologic emergencies

Provide care for unassigned OB/GYN patients

Cover the Obstetric Emergency Department (OBED)

Serve as surgical first assist when required

Provide backup support to Certified Nurse Midwives

Respond to emergent labor and delivery situations

Perform Cesarean sections and other urgent OB/GYN procedures as necessary

Approximately 300–400 annual deliveries

Required Experience & Skills

Board Certified in Obstetrics & Gynecology

Active Texas Medical License

Active DEA Registration

Minimum of 2 years of recent experience performing:

Vaginal Deliveries

Cesarean Sections

Comfortable managing OB/GYN emergencies independently

Support Staff

Certified Nurse Midwives (CNMs)

Hospital-Based OB/GYN Team

Labor & Delivery Support Staff

Surgical Support Team
