Senior Living Interior Designer


Overview

We are seeking a talented and experienced Interior Designer specializing in Senior Living environments to join a collaborative and design-driven team. This individual will bring strong conceptual, technical, and project management skills while leading the development and execution of innovative interior environments.


The ideal candidate is a recognized design professional with the ability to guide projects from concept through construction documentation while mentoring junior team members and fostering strong client relationships.


Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of interior design concepts, branding strategies, and design narratives aligned with client goals and project vision
  • Translate client needs and architectural concepts into thoughtful and innovative interior environments
  • Prepare detailed design documentation including plans, elevations, renderings, finish selections, specifications, and presentation materials
  • Collaborate across all phases of the design process including programming, schematic design, design development, and construction documentation
  • Manage and coordinate interior design efforts for projects of varying size and complexity with minimal oversight
  • Oversee production of design details and implementation documents prepared by project teams
  • Coordinate with consultants, vendors, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure project goals and technical requirements are achieved
  • Participate in client presentations, meetings, and project discussions while effectively communicating design intent
  • Assist with project schedules, budgets, and overall project delivery
  • Develop creative and technically sound solutions to design challenges
  • Review and coordinate FF&E selections, specifications, submittals, RFIs, and installation requirements
  • Stay current on industry trends, products, materials, visualization technologies, and emerging design tools
  • Mentor and support junior staff while promoting collaboration and professional development within the team


Qualifications


Education & Experience

  • Professional degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or related field
  • 8+ years of professional interior design experience
  • Senior Living project experience strongly preferred
  • NCIDQ certification required
  • Sustainable design accreditation preferred


Skills & Technical Expertise


Required Software Proficiency

  • Advanced proficiency in Revit, Bluebeam, Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign
  • Advanced experience with visualization tools such as Twinmotion, Enscape, or similar platforms
  • Intermediate to advanced experience with Rhino, Grasshopper, and Dynamo
  • Familiarity with AI-driven design tools and virtual reality platforms such as Yulio and VR headsets


Additional Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of building codes, construction documentation, and integrated design principles
  • Experience managing FF&E documentation and design implementation
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication, presentation, and organizational skills
  • Collaborative leadership style with the ability to mentor and guide project teams
  • Proven problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
  • Ability to build and maintain strong client relationships
