Senior Technical Writer

Seeking a Senior Technical Writer for a contract position located in Colorado Springs who can turn complex hardware, software and systems information into clear, accurate and useful content. This is a cross-functional writing role supporting proposals, technical volumes, solution briefs, white papers, customer documentation, user guides, manuals, training materials and other technical content.

Responsibilities

• Write and edit technical volumes, RFIs, RFPs, white papers, solution briefs and customer-facing technical materials
• Develop user guides, customer manuals, training materials, technical explainers and product documentation
• Translate engineering, product and security input into clear, accurate content
• Work with SMEs across hardware, software, networking, cloud, security and operations
• Align content to customer requirements, evaluation criteria, use cases and operational needs
• Support proposal, capture, sales, product, customer success and engineering teams
• Maintain reusable technical content, product descriptions, diagrams, templates and approved language
• Review technical content for accuracy, consistency, clarity and completeness
• Use AI tools responsibly while verifying all output against source material and SME input

Requirements

• 5+ years of proven technical writing experience
• Experience writing for complex hardware, software, systems, infrastructure or defense technology products
• Strong ability to understand technical input and turn it into clear usable content
• Experience working directly with engineers, product teams, technical SMEs and executives
• Ability to write for multiple audiences, including evaluators, operators, technical reviewers, customers and internal teams
• Strong editing, interviewing, research and information-organization skills
• Experience developing technical documentation, manuals, white papers, solution briefs or proposal content
• Strong attention to accuracy, source control and version control
• Experience with defense, public sector, telecommunications, cybersecurity, edge compute, cloud, networking or AI-enabled systems preferred
• Familiarity with RFIs, RFPs, technical volumes and compliance-driven content preferred

• This is a hybrid position with the ability to easily visit the office in Colorado Springs
• Position does not require a security clearance, but must be able to get one if needed
• Therefore candidates must be US Citizens
• Offered hourly rate range is $40/hr to $47/hr
