Job Title: Communications Coordinator

Classification: Salaried, Part-time (24 hours per week), 6 hours per day, M-Th

Reports To: Head of Staff

Job Summary/Objectives: The Communications Coordinator supports and assists the Head of Staff, staff peers, and Congregational leaders in the successful execution of Communications. This position provides effective coordination and delivery of official messaging across all internal and external channels of FPCLY.

Essential Responsibilities:

§ Provide guidance and leadership to Church staff on best-practices pertaining to organizational messaging

§ Help create and deliver effective internal and external communications

§ Work closely with Committee Chairs and leaders of initiatives to ensure clear, consistent and timely communications to all stakeholders

  • Manage distribution and approval of church-wide communications

§ Act as first point of report for computer support. Coordinate necessary service support for all technology.

§ Coordinate photography and videography for FPCLY events

§ Serve as FPCLY website coordinator (content & design)

§ Serve as primary receptionist when phone calls are received

 

Supervisory Responsibility:

None

Required Qualifications:

§ Associates Degree or higher

§ Attention to detail

§ Attitude of service

§ High degree of confidentiality, discretion and professional judgment

· Minimum 3 years experience in the Communications field (strategic communications, marketing, public relations, social media management, graphics design, etc.)

· Ability to communicate effectively in an office setting as well as with a variety of technology and media

· Proficient computer skills (Microsoft Office and/or other Design Software)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years in an office setting
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Communications-related discipline
  • Experience working in, and with, a House of Worship or non-profit organization

· Experience in graphic design
