Bilingual Medical Assistant – Dallas, TX

Job Summary:
We are seeking a Bilingual Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team in Dallas, TX. The ideal candidate will be fluent in English and Spanish and will provide essential clinical and administrative support to ensure smooth patient care. You will work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to assist with patient exams, take vital signs, manage medical records, and facilitate communication between English- and Spanish-speaking patients and providers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet and check in patients, verifying demographic and insurance information.
- Assist healthcare providers with patient exams, procedures, and treatments.
- Obtain and record patient vital signs, medical history, and chief complaints.
- Perform basic lab tests, phlebotomy, and administer injections as needed.
- Prepare and sterilize medical instruments and exam rooms.
- Educate patients on medications, treatments, and follow-up care in both English and Spanish.
- Schedule appointments, handle phone calls, and manage patient referrals.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic health records (EHR).
- Assist in translating medical information for Spanish-speaking patients.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA and other healthcare regulations.
Qualifications:
- Bilingual in English and Spanish (Required).
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant (MA) program preferred.
- Certification (CMA, RMA, or CCMA) is a plus but not always required.
- 1+ years of experience in a medical office or healthcare setting preferred.
- Proficiency in using Athena EMR
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- CPR/BLS certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
