Job Posting Title: MATERIAL EXPEDITOR
JOB SUMMARY:
Material Expeditor ensures the timely and efficient flow of materials and equipment, often working with suppliers, vendors, and internal teams to track orders, manage inventory, and mitigate potential delays, ultimately supporting production schedules.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Order Management:
• Tracking purchase orders and ensuring timely delivery of materials and equipment.
• Following up with suppliers and vendors to expedite orders and address potential issues.
• Verifying supplies and communicating with suppliers to determine expected delivery dates.
Inventory Management:
• Monitoring inventory levels and managing supply requisitions.
• Maintaining accurate records of inventory and material status.
• Identifying and addressing shortages or discrepancies.
Communication and Collaboration:
• Communicating with management, work teams, and other departments regarding potential delays or issues.
• Collaborating with production control, purchasing, and other relevant teams to ensure smooth operations.
• Acting as a liaison between internal departments and external suppliers.
Process Improvement:
• Identifying and implementing process improvements to optimize material flow and reduce delays.
• Ensuring compliance with relevant procedures and regulations.
Other Duties:
• Assisting with shipping and receiving functions.
• Performing other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); three months or more related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Possess or have ability to become forklift certified
Driver’s License or equivalent
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and interpret documents, including protocols, standard operating procedures, customer orders, and pick tickets.
REASONING ABILITY:
Able to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
