Job Description
Primary Purpose: As a member of the Operations Team, all employees are responsible for commitment to and support of the our purpose of "partnering with families in meeting the challenges of life". The food service staff is responsible for ensuring quality food and beverages are served in accordance with the companies Policies & Procedures and local food service regulations.
Qualifications / Skills Needed: The successful candidate must hold a High School Diploma or GED. Prefer candidates have a food preparation work experience in a service environment. Good verbal and written communications skills are a must. Flexible work schedule required.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
· Preparation and cooking of all Resident and employee meals, including special events.
· Check menus daily for any required advance preparation.
· Prepare nourishment as requested.
· Assist in serving meals and tray preparation for residents as required.
· Participate in food and equipment inventory as assigned.
· Assist in removing dishes and trays from dining room.
· Clean dining room, tables, chairs, floors, etc.
· Clean food preparation area, including utensils and equipment used, wash dishes, take out trash, mop floors.
· Responsible for key to kitchen.
· Ensure that all electrical and gas appliances are turned off before leaving kitchen areas and at end of shift.
· Responsible for locking and securing the kitchen area before leaving kitchen areas and at end of shift.
· Responsible for daily cleaning and weekly deep cleaning of the kitchen dish room, pantry, and dining room.
· Carry out special duties or projects as assigned.
Physical Demands
This position is classified as HEAVY, requiring exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to lift/move objects. Functional requirements include constant standing and walking. Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, stooping, bending, turning and stretching. Finger and hand dexterity required. Visual and hearing acuity are essential. Ability to understand and carry out written and oral instructions necessary. Ability to perform basic mathematical computations as required.
