Job Description
Boomerang Rubber is seeking a dynamic and proactive Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Coordinator, to champion safety and environmental initiatives across our manufacturing facility. Your expertise will drive the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of safety and environmental programs that protect our people, environment, and operations. In this vital role, you will create and sustain a culture of EHS excellence by ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations, conducting thorough risk assessments, and fostering a proactive approach to occupational health. Duties
- Develop, implement, and monitor comprehensive EHS policies aligned with OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration), EPA (Environmental Protection Agency), and workers' compensation law requirements.
- Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and root cause analysis to identify hazards and implement corrective actions promptly.
- Manage incident investigations by documenting reports accurately, analyzing causes, and recommending preventive measures to reduce future risks.
- Coordinate emergency response plans, including fire drills, spill response procedures, and first aid readiness to ensure preparedness for any incident.
- Maintain records of safety activities, training logs, inspection reports, and compliance documentation for internal review and regulatory audits.
- Collaborate with management to foster a safety-first culture through ongoing training & development initiatives that keep staff informed about evolving safety standards.
- Help lead and maintain our ISO 14001 Certification.
Skills
- Proven experience in manufacturing environments with a strong understanding of occupational health principles.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct root cause analysis effectively and develop actionable solutions.
- Excellent report writing skills with attention to detail for incident reports, audit findings, and compliance documentation.
- Strong communication skills capable of delivering engaging training sessions & fostering a safety-conscious culture.
- Ability to perform thorough inspections including visual assessments of work areas, equipment checks, and emergency preparedness evaluations.
- Ability to work independently and as a team.
