Job Description
Maintenance Group Leader
This onsite role supports labor time study and service procedure validation activities in a fast-paced automotive manufacturing environment. The selected candidate will work closely with the labor time technician team, foremen, and the Mechanical Service Information Development team to ensure service procedures are accurate, optimized, and time studied. The role also includes leading or supporting skilled employees in troubleshooting complex equipment and processes while applying sound judgment within manufacturing systems focused on safety, quality, responsiveness, cost, and environmental standards.

Work Schedule
· Regular schedule is Monday through Friday, with weekend work required.
· Candidates should be prepared to work 2 to 3 consecutive weekends before receiving a weekend off.
· A schedule change is under discussion in which Saturday and Sunday may become standard workdays, with Wednesday and Thursday as scheduled days off. No decision timeframe has been confirmed.
· Candidates must be open to both 2nd and 3rd shift assignments.
· 2nd shift: 2:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., with an expectation to arrive 30 minutes early and stay 30 minutes after shift.
· 3rd shift: 10:00 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. starting Sunday night, with an expectation to arrive 30 minutes early and stay 30 minutes after shift.
Key Responsibilities
· Supervise or support a group of skilled employees to troubleshoot and repair complex equipment and processes.
· Work closely with labor time technicians and foremen to document labor time studies based on technician markups.
· Partner with the Mechanical Service Information Development team and Validation/Labor Time Technicians to ensure service procedures are accurate, optimized, and properly time studied.
· Apply automotive knowledge and use multiple source files to identify appropriate content for publications and service information.
· Support Labor Time Guide special projects and other workload needs as assigned.
· Use independent judgment within manufacturing systems while maintaining focus on safety, people, quality, responsiveness, cost, and environment.
· Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, manufacturing, and operations teams.
· Adjust to changing production needs, manpower demands, and operational issues in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
· Administer and work within National and Local union agreements as applicable.
Required Qualifications
· High school diploma required.
· Experience level is open; candidates should be submitted based on overall background and aligned to the appropriate bill rate.
· At least 1 year of direct supervisory experience preferred.
· Experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably automotive and high-volume production.
· Ability to read and understand electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic blueprints.
· Strong critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
· Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities simultaneously.
· Strong written and verbal communication skills.
· Interpersonal and relationship-management skills to collaborate effectively across varying levels of the organization.
· High level of integrity, comfort with ambiguity, self-direction, and initiative.
· Ability to work cross-functionally with engineering and manufacturing teams.
· Union exposure and people leadership experience are strongly valued.
· Continuous improvement mindset and comfort using data to support decisions.
· Strict flexibility to work either 2nd or 3rd shift.
