Job Summary

We are seeking a Patient Access Representative to provide front-office support in a busy healthcare setting. This role is responsible for patient registration, appointment scheduling, insurance verification, referral management, co-payment collection, and delivering exceptional customer service while ensuring accurate patient information and efficient clinic operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet and register patients while ensuring a positive patient experience.
  • Verify and update patient demographic and insurance information.
  • Assist patients with completing required forms, including HIPAA, consent-to-treat, and arbitration documents.
  • Verify insurance benefits, referrals, and authorizations.
  • Collect co-payments and reconcile daily receipts and payments.
  • Schedule appointments, testing, and follow-up visits.
  • Contact patients with appointment reminders and obtain necessary insurance and referral information.
  • Prepare and maintain patient charts and records.
  • Enter orders and requisitions into the electronic medical record (EMR) system in accordance with organizational guidelines.
  • Assist patients with billing and insurance-related questions.
  • Support clinic operations with reminder calls, scheduling activities, and other administrative duties.


Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a medical office or healthcare administrative setting.
  • Medical Assistant Certification through AMT, AAMA, or NHA, or ability to obtain certification within 6 months of hire.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, insurance verification, and healthcare registration processes.
  • Strong computer skills and experience with EMR/EHR systems.
  • Excellent communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in patient access, medical reception, scheduling, or healthcare front-office operations.
  • Familiarity with insurance benefits, referrals, and authorization processes.
