Industrial Maintenance Mechanic

Seeking to hire a Multiskilled Mechanic in Augusta, GA for a Direct Hire opportunity. Our client is a leading global provider of silicates, silicas, and derivative products. Their products are used in a wide variety of industrial processes and many customer products, from decorative paints to green cement, from clean drinking water to green tires, and from toothpaste to biofuels and beer.

Requirements:

• Performs mechanical and electrical repair of all equipment associated with operations
• Installs machinery, pipes, structural steel, etc. at a multi-plant location
• Specifies and purchases replacement parts and equipment
• Helps maintain correct stockroom inventory
• Receives and carries out directions accurately and efficiently
• Operates in compliance with all health, safety, and environmental rules and regulations
• Knows and complies with all corporate/plant policies and procedures
• Demonstrates commitment to Responsible Care in everyday activities
• Directs all or portions of maintenance work crew or in concert with others as directed
• Interprets and reacts to instrumentation readings to control the process
• Diagnoses problems and determines course of action to solve or correct situation
• Maintains housekeeping
• Participates in plant-wide HSE, quality and productivity initiatives.
• Paricipates on the Safety Committee on a voluntary rotational basis.
• Participates in HSE activities (i.e., Toolbox meetings, accident investigations, hazard IDs, etc.)

Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of Four Technical Trade Courses (Apprentice Program)
• Electrical Knowledge 480V MCC Buckets – Troubleshooting and Minor Repairs
• Welding Experience

Qualifications:

• Industrial Maintenance Experience - 5+ Years Preferred
• Understanding of LOTO, Hot Work, Line Break, SOP and experience working on:
• • Industrial Conveying Systems; Screw, Trays, Rollers, Belt, Elevators, Screen-boxes
  • Pumps; Centrifugal, Gear, Rotary, Submersible, Diaphragm
  • Cartridge Seals, Air Seals, Packing
  • Pipe Fitting; Threaded, Welded, Compression
  • Agitators, Airlocks, Bagger Unit, Etc.
  • Shop Tools; Drill Press, Hydraulic Press, Band Saw, Belt Sander, Weld Machine
  • Experience in Coupling/Shafts Alignments and their tools
• Pass a Mechanical Aptitude Test (Written and Hands On)
• Ability to pass forklift certification course
