Job Description
Position Summary
The Dock Attendant plays a key role in maintaining the safety, cleanliness, and overall appearance of Pleasant Harbor Marina. This position supports daily marina operations while delivering a high level of customer service to guests and tenants.
The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-conscious, and committed to providing a positive waterfront experience through attention to detail and responsive service.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of docks, walkways, sidewalks, and marina facilities
- Collect and dispose of trash and debris throughout the marina
- Ensure availability and condition of push carts for customer use
- Perform dock inspections and audits to ensure safety and compliance
- Conduct waste pump-out services in accordance with environmental and safety standards
- Assist with general maintenance and operational tasks across the marina as needed
- Identify, report, and help mitigate safety hazards or maintenance concerns
- Provide courteous and professional assistance to customers and guests
- Support other marina or District operations as assigned
Qualifications & Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Ability to safely operate or learn to operate equipment such as forklifts, boats, and other machinery
- Strong work ethic with reliability, punctuality, and attention to detail
- Customer service mindset with the ability to interact professionally with the public
- Ability to work weekends, holidays, and flexible schedules as needed
- Must be able to lift 50+ pounds and perform physical tasks including bending, stooping, and standing for extended periods
- This is a safety-sensitive position. Candidates must successfully pass pre-employment drug and alcohol screening and may be subject to random testing in accordance with District policy.
Working Conditions
This position primarily works outdoors in a marina environment and may be exposed to varying weather conditions, water hazards, and operational equipment. The role requires frequent physical activity, including lifting, bending, twisting, and prolonged standing or walking.
Employees are expected to follow all safety protocols, including the use of proper personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to ergonomic best practices to minimize the risk of injury.
