Job Description
We are seeking a highly organized and motivated Production Lead to oversee day-to-day operations in our food and supplement manufacturing facility. This role is responsible for coordinating production activities, completing batch records, supervising personnel, and ensuring that daily production goals are met. The Production Lead will collaborate with multiple departments to ensure compliance with quality standards and timely delivery of finished goods.
Key Responsibilities
Issue and complete batch records for each production room as required
Execute daily production schedules to meet shift goals and deadlines
Supervise and coordinate a team of 50–60 production employees per shift
Monitor productivity, workflow, and quality to ensure operational efficiency
Ensure proper staffing and cross-training across all production lines and areas
Communicate clearly with team members and management to coordinate operations and resolve issues
Enforce compliance with cGMP, FDA, and workplace safety standards
Work closely with the Quality Assurance and Sanitation teams to maintain a clean and compliant environment
Track inventory levels of raw materials and packaging components; report shortages to the appropriate departments
Assist with performance evaluations, attendance tracking, and other basic HR functions for production team members
Report equipment malfunctions and process deviations to the maintenance team and management
Assist in onboarding and training new team members in production protocols and safety procedures
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED required; Associate or Technical degree preferred
3–5 years of experience in a food or supplement manufacturing environment
Proven leadership experience in a production or manufacturing setting
Solid understanding of production workflows and scheduling
Strong communication, leadership, and organizational abilities
Knowledge of cGMP, FDA, and food safety compliance standards
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
Proficient in basic computer software (Excel, Outlook, etc.) and production tracking systems
Preferred Qualifications
Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
Experience supervising large production teams (40+ employees)
Familiarity with lean manufacturing or continuous improvement practices
Work Environment
This position is based in a food manufacturing setting, which involves exposure to noise, machinery, and varying temperatures. Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 lbs. Occasional overtime or weekend work may be required based on production demands.
