Maintenance Technician – Journeyman (3rd Shift) – Plymouth, MI

Shift: 3rd Shift | 10:00 PM – 6:00 AM
Pay: $37.82/hour + $0.75/hour shift premium
Overtime: Paid after 8 hours/day

Position Overview

A leading automotive manufacturer in Plymouth, MI is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician – Journeyman to support 3rd shift operations. This role is critical in maintaining production equipment, minimizing downtime, and ensuring safe, efficient manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair malfunctioning equipment, including motors, transformers, and lighting systems
• Repair or replace electrical components such as relays, switches, and motors
• Inspect, test, and troubleshoot equipment to identify root causes of failures
• Collaborate cross-functionally with maintenance, production, and toolroom teams
• Dismantle, inspect, and reassemble machinery to correct mechanical/electrical issues
• Measure and evaluate parts for wear, misalignment, or damage
• Maintain accurate maintenance and repair documentation
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to increase uptime and reliability

Qualifications

• Maintenance Journeyman card or 8+ years of industrial maintenance experience
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
• Experience with Fanuc robotics and GMAW/resistance (spot) welding equipment
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
