Lead Market Cook / Mobile Event Cook

The Notorious Chef is seeking a motivated, experienced cook to operate our festival and farmers market food booths throughout Southern California.

This is not your typical line cook position. We're looking for someone who can take ownership of a booth, cook high-quality food consistently, engage with customers, and help grow a rapidly expanding food business.

Compensation

- $20.00 per hour

- 5% gross profit share

Responsibilities

- Independently operate a food booth at farmers markets, festivals, and special events

- Prepare and cook menu items to company standards

- Maintain food safety and sanitation requirements

- Manage inventory and equipment during events

- Work alongside a cashier while maintaining efficient service

- Interact professionally with customers and help drive sales

- Represent The Notorious Chef brand with professionalism and enthusiasm

- Load, transport, set up, and break down booth equipment as needed

Requirements

- Previous cooking or food service experience required

- Comfortable working in fast-paced event environments

- Strong communication and customer service skills

- Sales or community engagement experience preferred

- Reliable transportation and valid driver's license

- Vehicle capable of transporting booth equipment, supplies, and event inventory

- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work outdoors in varying weather conditions

- Self-motivated and capable of working with minimal supervision
