Zing Recruiting, in partnership with a prominent manufacturing client in the Birmingham, AL area, is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join their team! This is a stable, hands-on opportunity within a manufacturing environment offering competitive pay, full benefits, and long-term career growth.

Maintenance Technician Job Summary:

Salary: $74,000 annually

The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for supporting daily maintenance operations within a manufacturing facility. This role focuses on troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining production equipment and facility systems to minimize downtime and ensure safe, efficient operations.

Key responsibilities include:

• Perform preventative maintenance on production machinery and equipment
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
• Repair equipment breakdowns and respond to maintenance calls in a timely manner
• Install, maintain, and replace machinery components as needed
• Conduct routine inspections to identify potential equipment issues
• Maintain accurate maintenance logs and repair documentation
• Ensure compliance with all safety procedures and company policies
• Assist with equipment setup, upgrades, and facility maintenance projects
• Collaborate with production teams to support operational efficiency

Maintenance Technician Qualifications:

• Previous industrial maintenance experience required
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
• Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, conveyors, motors, and PLC systems preferred
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals
• Experience using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
• High school diploma or GED required; technical certification preferred

Preferred Experience:

• Manufacturing or automotive industry experience
• Welding and fabrication experience is a plus
• PLC troubleshooting and repair experience preferred
• Knowledge of preventative maintenance programs (PM systems)
