We are a respected local firm providing civil engineering, land surveying, and site development services throughout New Hampshire. Our surveying team plays a critical role in delivering accurate, high-quality work that supports both private development and public infrastructure projects.
Position Overview:
We are a well-established civil engineering and land surveying firm based in Bedford, New Hampshire, seeking a motivated and detail-oriented AutoCAD Drafter with at least 2 years of experience to support our land surveying department. This role focuses on the preparation of survey plans and processing of field data, with opportunities to contribute to a wide range of projects including boundary surveys, subdivisions, and topographic mapping throughout southern New Hampshire.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare boundary, existing conditions, ALTA/NSPS Land Title, and topographic survey plans using AutoCAD/Civil 3D
- Process and draft survey field data, including total station and GPS data
- Assist in the preparation of subdivision and ANR plans
- Draft plot plans, easements, and legal exhibits (including metes and bounds descriptions)
- Work closely with field crews and licensed land surveyors to ensure accuracy and completeness of plans
- Maintain CAD standards, layering, and file organization for survey deliverables
- Revise plans based on redlines and quality control reviews
Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree or technical training in drafting, surveying technology, or related field preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of AutoCAD drafting experience, preferably in land surveying
- Proficiency in AutoCAD; experience with Civil 3D strongly preferred
- Familiarity with survey coordinate systems, contours, and boundary linework
- Experience with survey data processing (Trimble, Carlson, or similar software) is a plus
- Strong attention to detail and ability to interpret field notes and records
- Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
