Responsibilities

• Greet customers promptly and professionally.
• Assess customer needs, home layout, heating requirements, and design preferences.
• Recommend appropriate fireplaces, stoves, inserts, mantels, and accessories.
• Explain product features, benefits, fuel types, efficiency ratings, and safety considerations.
• Prepare quotes and estimates for products and installation services.
• Upsell complementary products such as hearth pads, venting systems, mantels, and maintenance plans.
• Meet or exceed sales goals and performance targets.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous retail sales, showroom sales, or customer service experience.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to build rapport with customers and close sales.
• Basic computer skills, including point-of-sale (POS) and CRM systems.
• Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
• Ability to lift and move product samples, displays, or merchandise (up to a specified weight, if applicable).

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience selling fireplaces, stoves, home improvement products, appliances, HVAC equipment, or building materials.
• Knowledge of gas, wood-burning, electric, and pellet heating products.
• Experience reading floor plans, measurements, or basic construction drawings.
• Familiarity with financing options and sales contracts.
• Experience with inventory management and showroom merchandising.
