POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The Assistant Equipment Technician assists the Equipment Manager in the repair and maintenance of motorized equipment; does a variety of mechanical work and maintenance work independently; services motorized equipment; and, does related work as assigned by the Equipment Manager.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1.  Repairs and adjusts the engines and cutting mechanisms of a wide variety of heavy and light mowing equipment.

2.  Does work overhauling and repairing automotive and other powered equipment including engines, brakes, transmissions, differentials, springs and mufflers.

3.  Secures and replaces tools and parts; cleans working areas after repairs are completed; lubricates and services automotive equipment

4.  Assists in electric gas welding.

5.  Inspects equipment for operating deficiencies and makes routine adjustments where necessary.

Requirements:

EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS:

1.  Requires working knowledge of general operation of gasoline, diesel and electric equipment.

2.  Knowledge of proper methods of servicing golf course equipment.

3.  Working knowledge of the repair and adjustment of power mowing equipment.

4.  Requires mechanical dexterity and usage of common mechanical tools. Good aptitude for mechanical repair work methods.

5. Ability to maintain cooperative working relationships with other employees and the public. Requires the ability to understand and follow oral and written direction.

6.  Requires a valid driver's license.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

This position requires the ability to regularly stand, squat, and walk for long periods. Withstand constant exposure to outside elements. Frequently lifts carries or otherwise moves and positions objects weighing up to 75 pounds. Ability to discuss and exchange information to employees. Continual exposure to fumes, seeds, pesticides, fertilizers and solvents. Frequently operates lawn & garden equipment to maintain greens. 

Compensation details: 25-30 Hourly Wage
