Job Description
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Two Special Education teaching opportunities are available for dedicated professionals to support student growth and success in a dynamic educational environment. Assignments are based on individual expertise and range from early childhood to middle school levels, offering a rewarding experience making meaningful differences in students’ lives.
Position 1:
- Early Childhood Special Education (Pre-K)
- Contract from August 10, 2026, through May 28, 2027
- Schedule: 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, 40 hours per week
- Caseload: 10–20 students
- Service will take place across multiple sites within the district, matched to skill set
Position 2:
- Middle School Special Education (Grades 6–8, ages 10–14)
- Contract from August 10, 2026, through May 28, 2027
- Schedule: 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, 40 hours per week
- Caseload: 22 students
- Primary site: middle school location (in-person strongly preferred, possible remote arrangement for exceptional candidates)
Key Qualifications:
- Valid state Special Education Teacher certification
- Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or related field (Master’s preferred)
- Demonstrated experience with individualized education program (IEP) development and implementation
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organization skills
- A passion for working with diverse learners and adapting teaching strategies
Primary Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver engaging, age-appropriate instruction for students with varying needs
- Develop, monitor, and update IEPs in collaboration with families and school teams
- Create a supportive, inclusive classroom environment
- Assess student progress and adjust instruction accordingly
- Serve as a resource to general education staff on accommodations, modifications, and best practices
