Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Director of Revenue Cycle – Patient Accounting to lead and oversee all patient accounting operations, including hospital and professional billing, claims management, payment posting, collections, and accounts receivable performance. This leadership role will drive revenue cycle optimization, improve financial outcomes, and ensure compliance with healthcare billing regulations and industry best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead daily operations of patient accounting, billing, collections, and accounts receivable management
- Oversee hospital and professional claims processing, payment posting, and denial management
- Monitor key revenue cycle metrics including Days in A/R, clean claim rates, denial trends, and cash collections
- Manage and mentor revenue cycle managers, supervisors, and staff
- Ensure efficient use of Epic billing systems and workflows
- Collaborate with IT, Revenue Integrity, Compliance, and operational leaders to improve performance
- Drive process improvement initiatives and revenue optimization strategies
- Oversee departmental budgeting, reporting, and financial performance
- Ensure compliance with CMS, payer, and regulatory requirements
- Participate in Epic optimization projects, upgrades, and system enhancements
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, Finance, or a related field
- Minimum 8 years of experience in hospital and professional billing, claims, and patient accounting
- Extensive experience with Epic Revenue Cycle systems (HB/PB)
- Strong knowledge of healthcare revenue cycle operations and reimbursement processes
- Previous director-level leadership experience required
- Proven success managing teams, improving workflows, and optimizing financial performance
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Advanced Microsoft Office and reporting skills
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary Range: $100,131 – $135,164 annually
