Special Education Teacher (SPED)
Location: Bristol, NH
Position Type: Full-Time
Assignment Dates: August 31, 2026 – June 17, 2027 (with potential pre- and post-planning days)
Hours: Approximately 35–37.5 hours per week
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Special Education Teacher to join a collaborative educational team in Bristol, New Hampshire for the 2026–2027 school year. This position will support elementary students in grades 1–4 within a resource classroom setting, with some push-in services provided as needed.
The ideal candidate will have experience working with elementary-aged students and be committed to fostering academic, social, and behavioral success through individualized support and evidence-based instructional practices.
Caseload & Program Details
- Resource classroom setting with occasional push-in support
- Student population: Grades 1–4
- Caseload shared among three case managers
- Approximately 15–20 students per case manager
- Kindergarten caseload is covered separately
- Strong support system including:
- 1:1 paraprofessionals in classrooms
- Behavior analysts and support staff
- Collaborative special education team
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
- Provide specialized instruction to students with diverse learning needs.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, behavior analysts, and families.
- Deliver resource room and push-in services as appropriate.
- Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation.
- Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions.
- Support students' academic, behavioral, and social-emotional development.
Qualifications
- Valid New Hampshire Educator Teaching Certification required.
- Previous experience working as a Special Education Teacher with students in grades 1–4 required.
- Strong understanding of special education laws, procedures, and best practices.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
