Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, Special Education, or Visual Impairments, active Teacher of the Visually Impaired certification and 1+ years Teacher of the Visually Impaired experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired supporting an engaging group of students near Eden Prairie, MN. In this vital role, you’ll collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to provide direct instruction and accessibility support to students with visual impairments, as well as additional disabilities. With a manageable caseload of 25-30 students, you’ll make a lasting impact in a supportive educational environment across 2-3 educational centers.

Qualifications:

  • Valid and current licensure as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI)
  • Experience working with students with visual impairments, including those with secondary or tertiary disabilities
  • Familiarity and comfort supporting students with severe behavior and physical challenges
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Flexibility and adaptability to work between multiple educational sites

Responsibilities:

  • Provide specialized instruction to students with visual impairments, tailored to individual needs and IEP goals
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, therapists, and staff to ensure accessibility and inclusion
  • Adapt classroom materials and resources into accessible formats
  • Travel across 2-3 educational centers to deliver consistent, high-quality support
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of student progress
  • Communicate regularly with families and team members regarding student needs and achievements

Assignment Details:

  • Contract position beginning September 8, 2026, through June 10, 2027
  • 37.5 hours per week
  • Caseload of 25-30 students across North, South, and West Education Centers
  • Serving students in a setting 4 district known for supporting individuals with significant behavioral and physical challenges
