Job Title: Carpenter / Installation Helper
Job Description
This role supports a foreman and crew with metal installation projects in both shop and field environments. It is well-suited for individuals with experience in general labor, construction, or carpentry who want to develop their skills and grow into a specialized trade.
Responsibilities
- Assist the foreman and crew with metal installation projects in shop and field settings.
- Support construction and carpentry tasks, including framing, finish work, and general labor activities.
- Use hand and power tools such as drills, saws, and other equipment safely and effectively.
- Measure materials accurately using tape measures and other measurement tools to ensure proper fit and alignment.
- Follow installation techniques as instructed and apply them to various construction and metal installation tasks.
- Read and follow basic blueprints or instructions to support installation and construction work.
- Assist with concrete-related tasks as needed to support overall project completion.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in both shop and field environments.
- Work collaboratively with team members and follow directions from supervisors and experienced tradespeople.
- Demonstrate reliability by arriving on time and completing assigned tasks throughout the workday.
Essential Skills
- At least 6 months of experience in construction labor, carpentry, framing, or general trades work.
- Ability to use basic hand tools, including drills, saws, tape measures, and other common construction tools.
- Hands-on experience with construction and carpentry tasks such as framing, finish carpentry, and general labor.
- Ability to read and follow simple blueprints or written instructions.
- Capability to perform physical work in construction environments, including lifting, carrying, and working on-site.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and commitment to safety.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and take direction from supervisors and experienced crew members.
- Willingness to learn metal installation techniques and develop skills within the trade.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with finish carpentry and installation work.
- Familiarity with concrete work in a construction setting.
- Comfort using a variety of hand and power tools beyond the basics.
- Experience in general construction, carpentry, or related trades.
- Motivation to grow into a skilled trade role through on-the-job learning and mentorship.

Work Environment

The role requires comfort working outdoors in varying weather conditions and being prepared for a hands-on, physically active job.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $19.00 - $21.00/hr.
