Job Description
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Exciting opportunities are available for experienced Special Education Teachers who are passionate about supporting student growth and development. Two contract roles are open, working across multiple school locations in a collaborative and supportive environment.
Position 1 focuses on early childhood education at the PreK level, with responsibilities across various sites. This role manages a caseload of 10-20 students and follows a 40-hour week, Monday through Friday, 7:30 am to 3:30 pm. Position 2 centers on middle school students (grades 6-8, ages 10-14) with a caseload of 22, primarily based at a local middle school. The schedule is also 40 hours per week, from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. While in-person presence is strongly encouraged, there may be limited flexibility for virtual engagement in the middle school role.
Ideal candidates bring experience and skills in special education, a strong ability to collaborate with teachers, families, and support staff, and a commitment to fostering inclusive educational experiences.
Key Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification
- Previous experience with early childhood or middle school students
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to adapt teaching strategies to individual student needs
- Collaborative approach to working with educational teams
Responsibilities Include:
- Designing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Ensuring compliance with special education laws and district policies
- Delivering instruction in both group and 1:1 settings
- Monitoring and reporting student progress
- Engaging families and caregivers in the educational process
